A Few Highlights of the 2002

Lindsay Chili Cookoff

The winners of more than twenty trophies were captured in a group photo. The competition was keen with much good-natured teasing among the contestants. The Best Chili First Place- Richard Wood & Crew. Second place chili- Joe Salinas, Salinas Auto Repair, Third place chili- Myers Fueral Service. Best Booth Costumes: First Place- The Embroidery Connection and the Uniform Connection, Second Place- Slender Lady, Third Place- Lindsay Bank of the Sierra. Best Booth Activity: First Place- NDS, Second Place- Moreno Bail Bonds, Third Place- Vahnn Blue Construction.


 Sherry Wood, of Slender Lady, concocted delicious non-fat chili. Her booth won the second place trophy for the booth with the best costume.

 Winners of the grand price of $500 and two trophies were Richard Wood (front row, right) and his crew.

 Vahnn Blue, Vahnn Blue Construction, won the third place trophy for the booth with the most activity.

Jean Hill, Janice and Tom McCurdy enjoyed the Friday night Chili Cook Off mixer at Bank of America.

 Dr. Frank Baughman, DDS, devoured sixty large Jalapeno in five minutes.

 Councilman Danny Salinas (right) rounded up three helpers at the break of dawn to use leaf blowers to clean the downtown area. More than twenty people joined in.
