POLICE SERVICES & DIVISION

The City of Lindsay Police Division is dedicated to protecting life, property, and the overall quality of life within the community. Police Services & Responsibilities

Animal Control Services

Animal Control operates as part of the Police Division and plays an important role in protecting both public safety and animal welfare throughout the City of Lindsay.

Animal Control responsibilities include:

  • Patrolling the city and responding to calls regarding stray or loose animals
  • Capturing and safely transporting stray animals
  • Ensuring humane and approved treatment of all animals taken into custody
  • Sheltering animals captured by Animal Control
  • Enforcing animal-related regulations to promote community safety

Animal Control staff work to balance public safety needs with compassionate care for animals.

 

Records Division

The Records Division provides essential administrative support and serves as a primary point of contact between the Police Department and the public.

Records Division services include:

  • Performing public reception duties for the Police Department
  • Receiving, processing, and maintaining police reports and related documents
  • Answering incoming phone calls and determining the nature of inquiries
  • Routing calls and requests to the appropriate personnel or division
  • Assisting residents with records-related questions and general information

This division helps ensure efficient communication, accurate recordkeeping, and responsive customer service.
